Did you know that 80% of the reason someone will stop to view a Facebook Ad and click is because of the ad image?
If you are going to try to increase the effectiveness of your ads, then you need to start with the image.
There are three tips I try to apply to all my Facebook ads. They are:
1. Apply a high contrast to each image
One of the easiest things you can do to make your image stand out is to apply a high contrast to the image. High contrast makes the colours pop out, bold and darker. The image will pop out of the page when a high contract is applied.
Many images are dull and having a high contrast image will make your ad stand out.
2. Use a headshot of a real person
Currently, headshots of smiling real people looking at the camera is a real winner when running Facebook Ads.
Using stock photos of headshots of models are not as effective as people have an uncanny ability to identify a fake stock image.
Using a picture of yourself or a staff member helps to create a genuine look and feel to your ad. In a world where people are bombarded with 100s of advertisements per day anything that appears real stands out.
3. Use an intriguing image
This one is harder to get right, but it is worth trying. Using an image that is intriguing, funny, thought-provoking or draws an emotional response helps your ad get attention.
For example, if you are promoting a customer relationship management system (CRM), you know the software that salespeople use to track their prospects, you wouldn’t show an image of a person using a computer. Nobody will take notice of such a photo.
What you might want to do is show an image of a business person smashing their laptop on their desk out of frustration. Now that will generate an emotional response and get noticed.
When you see this image, you will ask, why is this person behaving this way? Why are they willing to smash their computer? What is frustrating them? And many more questions. When a prospect asks questions, they are then compelled to find out the answer and start to read the rest of your Facebook Ad.
Conclusion
These three simple tweaks to your Facebook Ad images are sure to increase your conversions on your Facebook Ads.
